I was particularly keen to find products that were practical, usefull, original/unique and in the case of the Natural Wellness range from Inatura, that are 100% natural, 100% sustainable and manufactured at a sheltered working area, supporting those people in society who are unable to work in regular employment.

On a more personal note, I have had my Cherry Pip Pillow Classic for many years and used it when I was in labour with our first baby, as it gives soothing relief from pain/cramps.

Later on, both our children were suffering from collick( or whatever caused them to cry incessantly :) ) and I found when applying gentle heat to their tummy really settled them, so it's definately a product I would recommend. These days I also use it as cold compresses, as now our boys are almost both on their feet, and bruises are common in our household...

 

The Rube & Rutje range is a retro  lifestyle  collection yet simple children's range that is designed by a Belgian Nursery teacher called Griet Bertels. The range exists out of Bedroom, Bathroom, Kitchen, Back to School and Baby range. There are vibrant warm colours, and most of the products have the characters embroided on it. The designs are simple, but are universal, regardless of the language or culture you come from!

 

At the very beginning of my venture I was given a pair of Bobux leather shoes as a gift, and when the baby tried them on, they actually stayed on, which I thought was marvellous, as I still have " orphaned " socks lying around from our older son, as he was forever taking off his socks.  As it happened there wasn't a distributor in Ireland, and the rest is history, as I acquired sole distribution rights for the Bobux Range. They really are the best and are the only ones that are made of Eco leather which just means that the way the leather is tanned is done in a safe way both for baby and the environment.

There are great designs, and once you own one pair, you'll want more of them. The Bobux range is  also catering for toddlers, as you can get the slippers for older kids too.. They are called Giants, and are great slippers for around the house, the creche, the babysitter.

 

The Rabbibs Swimwear is an exciting  designer range of  baby swimwear. It's double layered, so there is no need to wear a nappy. The swimwear comes in a variety of styles both for boys and girls, and makes is easier to go swimming with your babies and toddlers that are not potty trained.

My name is Katleen Bell-Bonjean, I am a Belgian National, living in Galway  and have been living in Ireland since 1993.

I have worked in a variety of Multinationals , using my languages and customer service/technical support skills. When I returned from maternity leave from our second baby, my position was made redundant. I have always wanted to work for myself, and settled on the idea of importing products from Belgium. I know that chocolates come to mind first, but there really is a lot more to Belgium than Chocolate!( I'll probably do some later on!)
